Created specifically to support the implementation of the UNICEF Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative™ in the United States, this curriculum is designed to support all of the Initiative's Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding, but specifically Step 2: "Train all health care staff in skills necessary to implement this policy."

This course is structured in 16 modules totaling 23.4 hours of continuing education (10 CMEs for Physicians), which can be completed at the your own pace. The modules are interspersed with interactive quizzes, which measure your understanding of the subject matter as you move through the course.. After completion of the course, you can print out a completion transcript which certifies your earned CEUs.

For institutions, Jones and Bartlett provides all the needed technology to administer the course to your staff, including hosting the course, student management resources, record keeping, and technical support. Administrators can log on and check the progress of enrolled students at any time. Completion of the course earns 23.4 continuing education credits for nurses and lactation consulants. The course is approved by the American Academy of Family Physicians for 10 CMEs.
